Welcome

Welcome to the website for the Mackinac Horsemen's Association! We are excited about using this medium for communicating information about who we are and the programs we offer to the Mackinac Island community.

Horses of a Different Breed 2007

We are always looking for donations and volunteers in support of our programs. Please visit How to Help for more information.

Please browse our site to meet our horses and to learn more about equestrian issues on our Links page. Enjoy and contribute photos to our Photo Gallery.

Find out when upcoming events such as clinics, lessons, and our Annual Mackinac Island Horse Show take place. You will find a schedule on our Events page.

For those island residents interested in leasing a horse (or half of a horse!), visit our Leasing page. Responsibilites come with leasing a horse and taking lessons. See our Barn Rules page for some guidance in making our program a safe and fun adventure.

The Mackinac Horsemen's Association is governed by a board of directors and administered by Director Leanne Brodeur. We are fortunate to have several very talented instructors teaching our adults and children about horses. Visit our Board & Staff page for more information. We will be posting our regular newsletters on-line soon.

Heads Up!

Great news! On March 19th the Mackinac Island State Park Commission leased a parcel of land (across from Wawashkamo Golf Course) for use as a community stable, a permanent home for the 4H and MHA programs. For more information on this project, please visit the Mackinac Community Stable page. We are now ready to launch our Capital Campaign. Please check back for more information. To donate, please contribute to the Mackinac Community Stable Fund at the Mackinac Island Community Foundation.
