Heads Up!
Great news! On March 19th the Mackinac Island State Park Commission leased a parcel of land (across from Wawashkamo Golf Course) for use as a community stable, a permanent home for the 4H and MHA programs. For more information on this project, please visit the Mackinac Community Stable page. We are now ready to launch our Capital Campaign. Please check back for more information. To donate, please contribute to the Mackinac Community Stable Fund at the Mackinac Island Community Foundation.
The Horse Breeds on Mackinac 2008 Calendar is now available for purchase. The calendar is available for $20.00 with 100% of the proceeds going the Community Stable Fund. The photos for the calendar were taken at the July 18th MHA event "Horses of a Different Breed". There were 15 breeds represented at this wonderful event and thanks to all for their participation. Please contact Lisa Brock at lisa@mackinachorses.com or call 906-847-6092.
Thanks to John Manikoff for donating this beautiful painting for our 2007 raffle. Please check back for details. Click on the photo for an enlarged size.

In recognition of the unique ordinance of 1898, banning the
"horseless" carriage on Mackinac Island, and in that the "HORSE
IS KING" on Mackinac Island, the Mackinac Horsemen's Association
is dedicated to the promotion, education, and future of horses
and horsemen on Mackinac Island.
